Stacy Decker
Director of Operations

I joined the team at TruHealing Hagerstown in 2020. Before starting my current position, I worked as an administrator in outpatient surgical care, and then joined an ambulatory surgery center development company as Regional Director.  I enjoy using my medical background and business knowledge—in conjunction with my personal experiences in recovery—to encourage and support clients seeking treatment.

Abstinence and recovery are an integral part of my life. Being able to help other people who are suffering with a substance use disorder has been a blessing. TruHealing Hagerstown is the only inpatient facility in our community to help people suffering with substance use disorders. It’s incredibly rewarding to give back to my community.

Staci Decker is the Director of Operations at TruHealing Baltimore.

Austin Binder

Behavioral Health Technician Manager

I’ve been working at TruHealing since October 2019. I started as a Behavioral Health Technician and have since worked in case management, as a BHT Supervisor, and as Director of Housing at KISH. I enjoy connecting with clients through 12-step recovery, and I absolutely love the operations team.

I’m a recovering addict and alcoholic. Substance abuse runs through my family and friends. Alll I want to do today is be of service to my higher power, and show others that there is a way out of their misery and pain.

My goal is to help make TruHealing Baltimore a place where anyone that needs to start their life over can go. I nurture a center and staff that I care about, who carry that care over to our clients. Our team shows love and compassion for people that haven’t been given it in some time.
The most rewarding part of my job is working with an amazing team in Baltimore. It is also fulfilling to watch the light come on in a client’s eyes—to watch them literally come back to life after daily battles with addiction.

Austin Binder is the Director of Operations at TruHealing Baltimore. Binder has a Peer Recovery Certification.

Jeremy Bellos

Behavioral Health Technician Manager

I have been working at TruHealing since July 29th, 2021. I enjoy using my own life experience to mentor staff and clients, whether in one-on-one conversations or group discussions.

Nothing fills my spiritual cup more than working in recovery. As a recovering addict myself, there is no greater reward than watching the light come back into the eyes of someone who has struggled in the darkness and desperation of active addiction. I have a sense of gratitude anytime I see a client who has left our program not only surviving, but thriving, in their new life in recovery. In this role, I want to motivate the staff and clients to become better versions of themselves through work-related trainings and mentorship.

I feel grateful to come to work every day. It is rewarding to know that this organization has faith that I can not only help our clients, but also be a leader amongst staff. I believe that this role makes me a better father, brother, coworker, and human being.

Jeremy Bellos is Behavioral Health Technician Manager at TruHealing Baltimore.

He is a Certified Peer Recovery Coach.

Mitch Dahne, ADT

Addiction has affected my life on many levels, and I have knowledge and experience to offer families and individuals help to explore their options. I love the team here at TruHealing because we are remarkably diverse, in our backgrounds, specialties, knowledge, and experiences. We all have our own reasons for being here and it gives each of us purpose. Our strengths have helped us to form a cohesive team.

Witnessing the beginning of hope and change in those who have lost so much, propels me to come to work, even on the coldest rainy days.

After 25 years working in sales and service, I lost my passion and wanted to retire. My wife suggested helping people with addiction as my new career of passion. I subscribe to “Systems Theory” meaning the group whole is greater than the sum of its parts, believing we learn more in groups. My passion is now facilitating groups and helping them to “want to be in recovery” and developing relationships with our clients as a community of individuals

Mitch Dahne, ADT is a clinician at TruHealing Baltimore. He went back to school after 25 years in the sales and service industry to get his Addiction Counseling license.

I bring a wealth of experience to addiction treatment at TruHealing Baltimore, both from personal experiences, education, and employment. I understand the journey required for my clients to achieve success and maintain sobriety. My focus is to help everyone identify resources available to continue treatment and rejoin their community. I have developed an extensive network of options including outpatient support, housing options, employment referrals and strategies for rebuilding relationships. All of these are an important part of the recovery journey.

Ian Ugol is a Case Manager at TruHealing Baltimore. He began working in the addiction treatment industry in 2016 and joined our team in 2020.

Greg Dodson, LMSW

My passion to work here stems from a belief that if there is an underlying meaning and purpose in life, it would be to attempt to try and mitigate suffering of humankind in any way we can. Being involved in social and political activism since I was a teenager and having a propensity towards human service, combined with a family history of substance abuse and mental illness has driven me. TruHealing stands out in our commitment and passion to every individual who come in treatment looking for help. We make it a mission to treat every individual with dignity and respect in the pursuit of alleviating any amount of pain and suffering they are experiencing. By creating a culture of inclusiveness for the clients and for staff, we can create a holistic environment for anyone who steps through its doors.

The most rewarding part of working at TruHealing is learning from colleges who have an immense amount of knowledge and insights into what it takes to promote and maintain a fulfilling recovery process. Through actively engaging with everyone at the center, it has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience. What I enjoy most is working utilizing mindfulness interventions and perspectives, combined with a focus on gender dynamics and through a lens of anti-oppression-based perspectives.

Greg Dodson, LMSW, is a licensed Clinician at TruHealing Baltimore.

Matthew Stout

Operations Manager – FRC

I believe in a helpful but direct approach to addressing the Clients and serving their needs, while also offering considerations outside of the box to paint a larger picture of possibility for their new life. The staff here is hands down what makes the experience of the program for the clients. I work alongside some of the most incredible human beings I will ever know, and I consider it an honor to learn from them and with them. As someone in recovery myself- the greatest gift of working in this field is watching the lights come on in a clients eyes as they put in the work to build a life in sobriety and wellness.

Matthew Stout has been working at TruHealing Baltimore for close to two years as the Operations Manager.

Shannon Creech

Clinician and Assistant Clinical Director
Foundations Recovery Center

I joined the clinical team at TruHealing in 2020. I work with people who are starting their recovery journey. I offer supportive therapy using cognitive behavioral techniques, reality therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. In using a client-centered approach, my goal is to initiate acceptance of past substance use, provide tools to avoid future relapse, build the client up, and instill hope for the recovery journey.

Substance use treatment was never on my radar as a career path. I originally went to school for Earth and Environmental Science at University of Illinois at Chicago, where I received a B.S. I wanted to save the bay; little did I know that my journey was meant to help others save themselves from the grips of addiction.

Addiction has impacted my life, as it has that of many others. I feel I have something to offer people in their recovery. I am grateful that my life has taken me in this direction. Every day I get to see miracles. The most rewarding part of working at Foundations is watching individuals who come in at a loss of what to do to save their lives regain hope. I love hearing from former clients who are in recovery and living happy sober lives.

The drive that staff here has is incredible. We all carry passion and a sincere desire to help others regain their life from substance use. We come from very diverse backgrounds, with one desire: to help others achieve their maximum potential.

Shannon Creech, ADT is a Clinician and the Assistant Clinical Director at TruHealing Baltimore. Creech received her Associates of Arts in Addictions Counseling, Human Services, and Psychology, and her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012. In 2020, Creech received a Certificate in Veterans Counseling from Anne Arundel Community College and earned her ADT.

Amber Abell

Director of Operations – FRC

I grew up in a very ethnically diverse family and promote cultural awareness in my personal life and at work. At an early age, I discovered my knack for science and a true desire to help others. Growing up surrounded by a chaotic and unstable environment (young parents with mental health disorders and alcohol/drug dependence) it hindered my own behavioral health, sobriety, and goals, at a young age. I spent years in Maryland juvenile detention centers, until I was 17. After that period, I embraced my experiences to help others, personally and professionally. I am a single mother, with three sons. My children are an inspiration for me every day. They motivate me to improve and to grow, as a mother and as an individual.

I started with TruHealing as the Director of Operations in March of 2022 and realized immediately that I am right at home here and feel fortunate to have this experience and to work with many exceptional staff members. My PhD research and area of specialization/focus is abnormal psychology and learning how to implement psychological and psychiatric services, operate outpatient programming, and provide clinical treatment services to individuals (adults and children) with severe mental disorders, substance-use disorders, developmental disorders, co-occurring disorders, personality disorders, and those on the severe spectrum of psychopathology. I have 19 years of experience in behavioral health, from direct service to coordinator to supervisor.

I utilize an eclectic approach of many counseling theories, especially person-centered client services, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), rational-emotive therapy, trauma-based therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused, interpersonal, and behavior modification. This includes interventions that have consistent evidence-based outcomes. My plan is to continue to provide psychotherapy part-time and to operate a behavioral health service program full-time, which helps individuals live independently in the community and to monitor the quality assurance of those services provided.

Amber is the Director of Operations at TruHealing Baltimore. She graduated from University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) in the summer of 2017 earning her Bachelor of Science in psychology, with a biology minor. Amber earned her Master’s in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, through Capella University, in 2021. Amber currently attends Capella’s PhD Program for Psychology. Amber obtained licensure in Maryland (LGPC) in May of 2022.

As we continue to grow Amatus Health, the need to stay competitive and differentiate ourselves in unique ways is crucial. Building creative approaches to reach more people will take our company to new heights. This is why I am pleased to announce that we are officially rebranding. Our new national name, TruHealing Addiction & Mental Health Treatment, will eventually replace Amatus Recovery Centers.

You may be asking, “Why are we doing this?” This new name will give us national uniformity and help brand ourselves as a whole, which will be done in phases. You will still see our existing facility names co-branded with TruHealing for the time being.

Healing is what we do. Everyone who comes through our doors is in a moment of profound struggle in their lives. We support them through a life-changing process of healing and recovery, and they leave our facilities changed. This new name is a representation of that process. As mentioned above, it also allows us to have a national brand, which will make us a recognizable name in the addiction and mental health field.

In summation, these changes present an excellent opportunity for our organization to develop our mission, vision, and purpose. I look forward to prosperous growth as we head in a new and positive direction.
